Even though Ive only been at work for 3 days this week, I am really looking forward to the weekend. With the move and the trip to valley fair and everything else I need to worry about Im afraid I havent had very much "Canopenner Time". So Im going to play video games (and hang up pictures and do laundry) this weekend.

The ants are doing quite well, they seem quite pleased by the mealworms I started adding yesterday. I think they were getting sick of nightcrawlers. Im also going to put a light on the back porch tonight to draw some moths to the screens for them to snack on (they really like the moths). Additionally I started supplimenting their diet with special k(the cereal not the hallucinagen).  Ive got another batch of hatched larvae jusging from the discarded pupua skins.

I have a picture at home that I plan on posting at lunch so stay tuned.

I am just getting slammed with telecom stuff today. Ick....I even had to steal Christy's phone and swap it with an analog because I was out of digital TNs at corp. Ive been asking for more for weeks but no cards have come in yet.

In other news the ants are doing great and Im trying to breed some miniture crickets that we caught in new ulm when we were there. I dunno how well thats going to work though, since I have no idea about the life cycles of miniture wild crickets (I dont even know what species). I guess Ill cross my fingers.

The amusement park was a blast. I rode everything I could. However the three boys(ages 11,12,15) wouldn't ride any of the BIG rides. How disapointing.

At one point I had the 12 year old agreeing to ride excaliber (old wooden rollercoster) with me but he took one look at the initial hill in it and said "WHAT! that thing! No way! Bag this!"

However Melissa (age 8) rode everything she was tall enough to ride except wild thing ("world class" hyper coaster).

I didn't get sunburned. But I have a little chaffey heat-rash going on south of the equator.

All in all A good time.

And just so Chad Jessen knows I had to borrow my mother in laws van to get there and my ride for his wedding fell through so what was I todo (please ignore this line if your name is anything other than Chad Jessen)?

Well I got all the system of a down albums from my boss. I think my favorite song ieaiaio. The ants made the move and the only cave-in I saw was in "the warming chamber" which is about 2 cm down so anybody caught in there should have been able to dig out.

In other news the company switched to plantronic headsets, which sux. They have lower sound quality so everyone with a GN netcom one thatI change out for brokenness just starts complaining to me.

heres the non verbatim response I give them:

"LOOK THERE'S NOTHING I CAN DO, THIS IS ALL I HAVE TO REPLACE YOUR GODDAMN BROKEN HEADSET! IF YOU DON'T FUCKING LIKE IT TAKE IT UP WITH YOUR MANAGEMENT AND MAYBE PURCHASING WILL GROW A BRAIN AND BUY SOME DECENT EQUIPMENT FOR A CHANGE!"

Ant farm makes the move today. Im kinda stressed out about it. I dont want to cave in everything in there so I guess Ill strap it to a plank and move it like its a back trauma patient. Additionally my internet makes the move tomorrow morning so I need to bring my computer over. Unfortunately I left the wiring for my old bedroom and my desk in the other building as well. I got a really BIG guy coming in to help me and one not so big guy too. Hopefully there will be no disasters.

I am still moving and nothing has been fixed at the new place, the landlord was over yesterday with a big ol checklist of broken crap. :^( Its beginning to make it hard for me to smile.

In other news this poor redheaded girl who is a new hire inherited a PC that belonged to an outed employee from czechoslovakia and he had it so infected with spyware the thing would barely boot. I got rid of most of it but I think Im gonna tell the manager over there not to hire anymore czechoslovakians because they just hose up the PC's, I always wondered how racial stereotypes were started. This must be it.

Moving is such a drag.
 
But everything is out of the old place except for some odds and ends and my computer/ant farm. I had to leave my desk up because the internet wont move to the new place until friday.
 
The new place has some problems, Im threatening my landlords until they fix it. The plumber they sent yesterday said it was fixed 1,2,3 times when it wasn't, he finally said he couldn't fix it and left. What a bunch of bullshit. I called my landlords and told them so. How hard is it to seal the pipes that run from the bathtup? I dont think its that hard. And Im a computer tech not a plumber.

Well the bad news about the bathroom floor/dining room ceiling is that its completely rotten. The house needs gutted. And is unfit for human habitation. I guess Im moving into newly remodeled house accross the ally (same layout, excepting updated remodeling).

Im waiting for the landlords to drop off the keys now...

I need to find a more viable breedable insect to keep around to feed the ants. The fruitfly thing isn't really panning out. I think because its been 45-50 some nights and its killing off my stock.

I may have to switch to maggots. In theory I should be able to reuse my same trap and just add rotten meat instead of fruit.

Any other options you guys can think of?

I have decided to have the best day Ive had in weeks today. I hope just by saying that it means it will happen. Usually that works for me. Lets hope it pays off today. Since I had such a rotten stinking day yesterday, I figure Im due. Plus its friday.

My Beta died last night. One of the children was like, "ROBERT YOUR FISH IS DEAD!" and I said yeah right and went back to playing first person shooter. But when I looked it was true.

I had an argument with the 10 year old about how I dont think animals goto heaven. He wanted to believe they did.

Well the 4th went pretty well. I didn't get out of going to the parade. And that part sucked. I did get to make a little trip to No Dak to bring back a trunkful of contraband. Heh. I still have plenty of bottle rockets, black cats and these things called little dynamites. Should make for an enjoyable summer. The public fireworks were pretty impressive except we kept getting hit by chunks of debris. I saved a bag with some as big as baseballs so I could sue the city for the outright unsafeness. But I prolly wont.

The ants are doing very well, there's a fresh batch of pupae. Baking there under my heatlamp.

In other news it was 48 degrees thgis morning. Why do I live at the north pole?

So The Brainerd Parade is this weekend. I hate that goddamned thing. Ugh. every year I am forced to go sit on a curb and watch the kids brawl with other children in the streets for candy that the paraders throw to the ground. The whole scene reminds me of a grain truck stopping for drop off in some starving African country. I HATE IT! hate it I tell you! hate it.

However I have a plan this year. Ive been trying to talk the bigger kids (12 and 15) into thinking its lame too. Therefore they will not want to go. Then I can say Im staying home with them. And gramma and grampa can take the littler ones. I dont know if its going to work but I definately have a shot at skipping that hellish show of patriotism and advertising.

I bought a trick deck of cards from the dollar store yesterday.
